Hi "Bill":

WE OUGHT TO HAVE LEGAL REPRESENTATION AT ANY AGREEMENT MADE. WHAT DO YOU
THINK?

Unfortunately the "WE" you refer to is a totally unorganized, widely scattered, vulnerable class of LILCO retirees who lack the most basic requirements for defense of their benefits. In my opinion we should move toward ORGANIZATION now !

The very question of: "Can we be represented 'at any agreement made'"is one for counsel and we are so disorganized we could not be represented by counsel in any way, shape, or form right now.

I think we should:

1    Develop a website as a presence on the internet to facilitate communications within the group.
The website will become the hub for all activities.

2    Develop a database of LILCO RETIREES which will represent the ALL IMPORTANT
mailing list with which to further expand ALL issues.

3    Charter a formal Organization and elect leaders.

4    Establish a financial foundation through voluntary contributions. This is prerequisite to   retaining counsel.

5    Strive, in every way, to protect the interests of ALL LILCO Retirees, wherever they may be.

I am ready to work for these goals and to make the website  www.krcfla.com  available for whatever use it may be.

Kessel suggests getting outside bids for management service contract if
National Grid deal doesn't.

BY MARK HARRINGTON
Newsday Staff Writer

March 30, 2006

The Long Island Power Authority, responding to recent indications that
National Grid's purchase of KeySpan Corp. may not translate into significant
concessions for local ratepayers, broached the possibility yesterday of
putting its lucrative management service contract with KeySpan out for
competitive bidding.

I DON'T THINK THIS SHOULD BE LEFT UP TO LIPA ALONE. RETIRED LILCO EMPLOYEES
ALREADY CAST ASIDE BY LIPA, EVEN THOUGH THEY HOLD MANY OF THE ASSETS THAT
PROTECT LILCO RETIREES' BENEFITS, THEY MAY NOW TRY TO CUT THEIR OBLIGATION
TO FUND THOSE BENEFITS BY SEVERING THE CONTRACT WITH KEYSPAN, AND OUR
SECURITY: LILCO'S ASSETS, AND THE 1.1 MILLION CUSTOMERS.

THIS MAY BE THE ONLY CHANCE WE SHALL GET TO PRESERVE OUR BENEFITS, AND
ENFORCE THE SAFEGUARDS THAT PROTECT OUR RETIREE BENEFITS.

WE OUGHT TO HAVE LEGAL REPRESENTATION AT ANY AGREEMENT MADE. WHAT DO YOU
THINK?
